Reiki at First Degree enables you to work with the beautiful healing energy of Reiki to heal yourself and your friends, family, pets and so on.
I provide you with a pre-course study pack, consisting of a highly comprehensive, illustrated 170 page manual and 2 accompanying audio CD's, produced by Taggart King. These introduce you to all aspects of our course at Reiki First Degree. They will be posted out to you on receipt of your payment for the 5 days of workshops at Los Limoneros, to give you plenty of time to assimilate the home study element of your training. This home study part will take approximately 6 hours to complete, and we will assume you have completed this work before you come, so it is important to spend time working through the study pack.
The live course that follows is mainly practical, putting into practice what you've learned.
Following the live course, you will receive your certificate and if you have email, you'll be invited to join the Reiki Evolution internet discussion & support group - a wonderful resource for anyone interested in Reiki. And you are welcome to keep in touch via phone or email for ongoing support and advice.

During our time together, we will learn a form of gentle qigong known as Ba-duan-Jin. So named because of its eight-part movements, Ba-duan-jin (eight treasures) is a traditional style of qigong and one of the earliest documented exercises practised by the Shaolin monks. It is a form designed to dramatically improve health, increase energy and revitalise the body through a series of standing postures, gentle movements and meditation. This exercise is easy to learn, yet it can work wonders for a stiff neck and shoulders and an unbalanced system of inner organs. For this very reason, it has enjoyed popularity among the Chinese people since the Shui (581 - 618 A. D.) and Tang (618 - 907 A. D.) dynasties.
I will be giving a demonstration of taijiquan (taichi) and you will have the chance, should you wish, to learn a little of this powerful yet beautiful martial art during your time at the retreat.
In doing so, you will get to experience working with energy in a different way and also learn about body posture, balance and internal harmony.
For those of you who may already have tried taijiquan or who may already be studying it in more depth, I will be on hand all week to work on more advanced forms (or martial applications if you so desire!) as well as providing discussions on the energies harnessed and utilised during the practise of internal martial arts.
